Bereaved adolescents who have lost a peer report feeling anger, guilt, fear, sadness, loneliness, confusion, and sometimes a lack of meaning or purpose to human existence. Teens who lose a peer to accidental or suicidal death are more quickly thrust into adulthood than unaffected peers. Teens who lose a parent or family member to natural, accidental or suicide death can become lost in the feelings, often retreating from life. Stay close to them if you can. They need you.
